Transform PDF Text into Excel-Compatible Data
Export PDF text to an Excel-compatible CSV instead of retyping each line. Page and line references help you compare the extracted information with the source PDF. For readable tabular data, the extracted lines can provide a starting point for organizing information into spreadsheet columns. This PDF to Excel online tool extracts text; it does not preserve table structure, formatting, formulas, or numeric cell types.
To work with the data in Excel, open the downloaded CSV. If needed, choose UTF-8 encoding and a semicolon separator when importing it. Arrange rows and separate text into suitable columns before continuing calculations. Conversion runs locally in your browser, and accuracy depends on the PDF’s text layer.

PDF to Excel FAQ
How do I convert a PDF to Excel?
Upload a supported PDF, start conversion, and download the CSV. Open it in Excel to work with the extracted text. Each row contains the source page number, line number, and text from that line; table columns are not reconstructed automatically.
Can I convert a PDF to Excel for free?
Yes, within the Free plan’s 10 PDF jobs per month, shared across PrivatePDF tools. An account is required to start conversion, and each completed conversion uses one job. Free use is not unlimited.
Can I convert a PDF to XLSX?
Not directly with this tool. The current download is CSV, not an XLS or XLSX workbook. You can open the CSV in Excel, organize the extracted data, and save it as a workbook there.
Can I convert a scanned PDF to Excel?
This tool does not perform OCR. An image-only scanned page has no text for it to extract and can produce no data rows. A PDF that already contains a readable text layer may provide extractable text; review the result for accuracy.
