Refund Policy

This policy explains subscription billing, cancellation and refund requests for PrivatePDF.

Last updated: October 7, 2026

1. What You Are Purchasing

Paid PrivatePDF subscription plans provide access to the PDF editing service with the features and monthly PDF job allowance associated with your selected plan. Monthly and annual subscriptions are available. An annual subscription pays for a yearly billing period; its PDF job allowance still resets each calendar month rather than becoming a single yearly allowance.

2. Subscription Charges and Renewals

Your initial charge occurs when you purchase a subscription and the payment provider processes your payment. Monthly plans renew and are charged monthly; annual plans renew and are charged annually. Subscriptions renew automatically unless cancelled before the next renewal. The amount, billing frequency and applicable taxes are shown at checkout and on your payment receipt. Paid access begins after payment is verified.

3. How to Cancel

Sign in to your PrivatePDF account, open your account's subscription controls and choose the option to cancel automatic renewal. Check the confirmation and any scheduled cancellation date. If you cannot access those controls or need help, contact us using the details below. Where applicable, you may also use the subscription-management options provided by the payment provider that processed your purchase.

4. What Happens After Cancellation

Cancellation stops future automatic renewals once it is confirmed. Your verified paid access normally continues until the end of the period already paid for, after which your account returns to the Free plan and its allowance. Cancelling does not automatically refund an existing charge. Unless applicable law or the payment provider's rules require otherwise, unused subscription time or unused PDF jobs do not automatically qualify for a refund or a prorated credit.

5. Refund Eligibility and Conditions

Refund requests are reviewed individually based on the payment record, the reason for the request, relevant service use, applicable law and the rules of the payment provider. Circumstances that may justify a refund include:

  • A verified duplicate payment or an incorrect subscription charge.
  • A material technical problem that prevents you from using the purchased service and cannot reasonably be resolved through support.
  • A refund or remedy required by applicable consumer law or the payment provider's applicable terms.

These examples do not guarantee approval of every request. A change of mind, non-use of the service or cancellation alone does not automatically establish refund eligibility, without limiting any rights you have under applicable law or payment-provider terms. PrivatePDF does not promise a fixed refund period or a general money-back guarantee in this policy.

6. Payment-Provider Refund Process

Where a payment provider or merchant of record processed your purchase, refunds are handled through its applicable refund process and rules. We may need to refer or coordinate your request with that provider. Approved refunds are normally returned to the original payment method, subject to the provider's procedures. Processing and bank posting times vary; we do not guarantee a specific completion time. If the provider gives you additional refund rights for your transaction, those rights remain available.

7. How to Request a Refund

Contact PrivatePDF through our Contact Page or email support@private-pdf-editor.com. Include your account email, subscription plan, charge date, receipt or transaction reference, and the reason for your request. We may request further information needed to verify the charge or investigate the issue. Do not send passwords, full payment-card details, or confidential PDF documents.

8. Your Consumer and Legal Rights

Nothing in this policy excludes, restricts or replaces mandatory consumer rights, statutory cancellation or withdrawal rights, or remedies available under applicable law. These rights may vary by location and by the circumstances of your purchase. Where mandatory law conflicts with this policy, that law takes precedence.
